Review and Testimonial Policy

How review requests, testimonials, and customer feedback should be handled.

Honest feedback

SmartStart should be used to request honest customer feedback, not to manufacture or pressure false praise.

No fake reviews

The business should not post fabricated reviews, buy reviews, or misrepresent customer feedback.

Negative feedback handling

Negative feedback should be reviewed respectfully and used to improve the customer experience where appropriate.

Permission to use testimonials

Customer quotes, screenshots, and testimonials should only be reused publicly when the business has the right to do so.

Platform rules

Review requests and testimonials must still follow the rules of the platform where the review is being collected or displayed.

Removal requests

If a customer asks not to have their testimonial reused in marketing, that request should be reviewed and honored where appropriate.

This page explains the standard that reviews should be real, permission-aware, and consistent with platform rules.
